Here’s what I’m doing with the Hang Drum and Khim:
Hamst3r – Hang Drum Test
The electronic drums are a Korg Prophecy ran though some distortion.
I plan on expanding this quite a bit. Adding a new melody with some nice strings. Probably somewhere in the middle. The track will definitely be longer, probably by 2 minutes.
I want to expand on the electronic beat too, make it do a few more tricks later on to sound busier towards the end without actually adding more layers.
It also needs some “sweeps”. Synths and sounds that whoosh in just before a new bar to give it more impact. I have a good idea of what kinds to use too.
Anyways, check it out. :)
By the way, do you guys like hearing unfinished stuff or would you rather just hear the finished tracks? Lemme know!
I just finished two new tracks. Stayed up all night working on them.
The first one is an extended and heavily built upon version of one of the “Portal Inspired” tracks. The track was called, Where Am I? and was actually the first track that I wrote for that ambient music project.
This extended Where Am I? mix takes the original theme and expands on it greatly, slowly building up to some heavy drum chops and piano arpeggios at around 3:00 in.
The second track is a hard rock song that I worked on with guitarist Josh Calles. The track is called Barricade of Fire and is part of another [insert video game name here] inspired project. I already have the guitars and groundwork laid out for 4 more of these rock and rocktronica tracks, so I’m guessing they’ll be up here pretty soon. :)
You can stream both tracks on THA Radio.
Or you can download them by right clicking on these links:

Thanks for listening! :)
I haven’t said much lately as I haven’t been working on much music lately. If you’re curious what I’ve been up to all this time, just click that big button to the right that says THA BLOG. It will take you to Hamst3r.com. I’ve either been playing video games, doing a lot of nothing or attempting to make some cool illustrations.
But I’m starting to get in the mood again to finish some tracks.
Here are some unfinished previews of the few I’ve been working on:
1. In The System (GLaDOS + Drum and Bass)
2. Understand (An oldie-style thing with a twist? Ignore the “mouth pop” – I’ve already removed it, it was a dumb idea. :P)
3. BossaHamster (Bossa Nova + Nintendo)
My assumption is that “In the System” will be the popular track, but lemme know what you think and if you think I should finish a particular track first.
I’ve also done a few remixes that I haven’t posted here before:
1. Sublime – Doin’ Time (THA Amateur Step Mix)
2. Jennyrave – Nemesis Flower (THA Contemplative Mix)
3. BigYo – Earth Plate
Those remixes were done pretty fast, just for fun, not really aiming on making my next epic track. But enjoy them, nonetheless. :)
Thanks to everyone that’s been sticking around and checking the page even though I haven’t been posting new stuff every month!
Marimba, bass, musette (accordian-like sound), strings, ambience, electronic zips, zaps and a phat beat. This track has a chilled out Neo-Tango sound to it with a wide mixture of influences and although the track is chill it’s still upbeat. Lots of variation in this one!
