New Track: Explosive Heat Death

26. October 2015 16:55 by Hamst3r in Tracks

Ready to GET HYPE? You better be. Hyped up for mean guitar riffs and Latin piano! Err, I mean, for big Jazz brass and a saxophone solo! Or uh, a vaguely exotic sounding clarinet and a shotgun sound effect! Actually, just get ready for all of it, as it's all here in Explosive Heat Death.

Taking inspiration from stuff like Progressive Rock and Jazz, there's a lot going on in this one.

New Track: Sthaga

9. August 2015 15:00 by Hamst3r in Tracks

You know what I like? The music of 1997. Big Beat. Some of my favorite albums were released that year. The Prodigy's Fat of the Land, The Crystal Method's Vegas, The Chemical Brothers' Dig Your Own Hole.

Well, this new track is inspired by all that sort of stuff. Big Beat mixed with Indian sounds and themes. I tried to find a good mix between acoustic instruments and synths, so that the track wouldn't be dominated by either one.

New Track: The Solution

1. June 2011 13:26 by Hamst3r in Tracks

A few months ago, a guy named Eisen Feuer asked me to make an end credits theme for his Portal-themed fan film titled, Outside Aperture. Only 1 minute of music was necessary for the film, but I didn’t want to release an mp3 that short, so I’ve extended the track to 3 minutes.

The track has a lot of layers going at once; with bells, multiple guitars, multiple drum sets, sitar, tabla, piano and synths stacked on one another.

New Track: Where the Nightingale Sings

10. July 2010 14:06 by Hamst3r in Tracks

There’s a mod in the works called, “Blue Portals”. It has an area with a Japanese garden sort of aesthetic. I was tasked with writing a calm music track to accompany the visuals.

The main instrument in the track is a Khim, which is essentially a smaller version of the Chinese Yangqin. There are also some flutes and tuned gongs, as well as a little bit of synthesis. It’s a very simple and sparse arrangement overall. :)

New Track: Ocean

21. November 2009 15:33 by Hamst3r in Tracks

It’s been a while – a few months since the last track – but now I’m back with some uplifting chillout for that ass. So sit your keister down and relax, cause it’s about to get fed some zen.

The overall tone of this track is airy and light. The track is lead by the traditional Indian combo of Sitar and Tabla, resting on top of a hip hop beat, a simple bass guitar and several layers of ambience. Also within the mix are Russian vocals sung by my friend Larissa.

Anyways, check it out:
